From Idea to Movie Script

Develop your movie idea

Many great films start with a simple idea — a situation, a character, or a question that sparks curiosity. But transforming that initial spark into a story that can sustain a full screenplay requires structure, dramatic tension, and a clear narrative direction.

The Idea to Movie script Session is designed to help you explore and develop your concept so it can evolve into a compelling cinematic story.

During this session we will analyze your idea together and explore key storytelling elements such as:

  • The central premise of the story

  • The protagonist and their dramatic goal

  • The core conflict and stakes

  • Genre and tone

  • Possible narrative structure

  • The overall cinematic potential of the idea

This session can be taken individually or as part of a bundle if you want to continue developing your story step by step over time.

Whether you are at the very beginning of your creative process or simply want a professional perspective before committing to writing, this session can help clarify the narrative possibilities of your project.

Ideal for
  • Writers with a film idea they want to develop

  • Aspiring screenwriters starting their first project

  • Authors exploring story concepts

  • Creators who want professional guidance before writing a screenplay

Please note that if you need to provide notes, research or any kind of text, Andy will read up to 25 pages of your material prior to the session. If you would like him to read all your content (up to 120 pages), please consider adding the Full Script Reading service.

“My goal is for you to leave the session with
clear next steps for your project”

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. What languages do you work in?

Most of my work is done in Spanish, but I can also conduct sessions in English if needed.

2. How long are the sessions?

All sessions last up to 90 minutes and take place online via Zoom or Google Meets.

This format allows enough time to explore your project, discuss storytelling challenges, and identify practical steps for the next stage of development.

3. Do you read my script before the session?

For Script Consultation and Script Development Program sessions, I will read up to 25 pages of your screenplay before our meeting.

If you would like feedback on your entire script, you can add a Full Script Reading prior to the session.

4. What is a Full Script Reading?

A Full Script Reading is an optional add-on if you want feedback on your complete screenplay before the consultation.

This allows me to review the entire script and prepare more comprehensive notes for our session.

5. What should I prepare before our session?

It depends on the service you book.

You may bring:

  • a short description of your story idea

  • a treatment or outline

  • a partial or complete screenplay

  • specific questions about your project

The clearer your questions are, the more productive the session will be. But the most important thing to bring, is always possitive energy and your best attitude.

6. Will you rewrite my script?

The consultation and development sessions focus on analysis, feedback and guidance rather than rewriting.

If you are looking for a professional writer to develop a screenplay, you may inquire about the Scriptwriting  service.

7. How far in advance should I book a session?

I offer a limited number of sessions per week, so availability may vary.

Booking in advance is recommended, especially if you are working with a deadline or preparing a project for a lab, festival or production.

8. Can I book multiple sessions?

Yes. Some services are designed to work as a series of sessions, especially when developing a screenplay over time.

If you want ongoing guidance while writing or rewriting a script, the Script Development Program may be the best option.

9. What happens after I book a session?

Once your session is confirmed, you will receive instructions on how to send your materials (if needed) and a link for our meeting.

Materials should typically be sent a few days before the session so I have time to review them.

10. Do you offer refunds or cancellations?

Sessions can be rescheduled with reasonable notice.

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible.
